New Delhi: Catering to the need of every class, two young entrepreneurs have joined hands to give tea a new twist and flavour. Opening six outlets in a year in Noida near Delhi, 'Chai Thela' is gaining popularity with each passing day.

Pankaj Judge, a graduate of IIT Kharagpur, and Nitin Choudhary of IHM Gangtok met through a common friend and because of their keen interest in food, they started the outlet. From a variety of tea to a range of snacks, no one can go empty stomach from this outlet.

From aam aadmi chai to Namo tea, from strawberry tea, apricot tea to adhrak chai, tulsi chai, the menu offers more than 30 varieties of tea. For health conscious people, there is green tea as well and for children there are shakes and lassi.

Catering to the Indian palettes, the menu also includes mathri, french fries, bun maska and sandwiches. The owners are now planning to include samosa in the menu.

The price of tea start from Rs 10 and can go upto Rs 40. Even when it is clubbed with snacks, it easily fits into one's pocket.

Even though there are a range of teas, the duo says that people still prefer adhrak tea the most.

When asked about the idea behind opening the outlet, Pankaj says, "Chai Thela is an attempt to create tea joints where people can enjoy nice tea. We are focusing on corporate IT parks and college campuses where chai is synonym to a break."

There are a total of 36 people in the team and they are placed in outlets on the basis of footfall.

"The outlet is successful only when it has at least 400 footfalls per day," says Nitin.

The marketing division is headed by Pankaj and operations by Nitin. The duo is also planning to open Chai Thela Academy where the staff will be given one week training to prepare different varieties of tea and the importance of hygiene.

The first outlet was opened on February 18, 2014 at Sector 62, Noida in the 3C Group building and now there are plans to open it in Great India Place mall in Sector 18, Noida so as to reach out to large number of people.

The other outlets are in Sector 126, 144, Sharda University.
