Holi is almost here, and the festivities are in full swing! As we prepare to celebrate the festival of colours with loved ones on March 25, delicious food and drinks become an essential part of the merriment. This year, why not ditch the regular thandai and try a unique and refreshing twist – Paan ka Sharbat, also known as Paan Thandai?
This vibrant concoction not only boasts a delightful flavour profile but is surprisingly healthy. Betel leaves, the star ingredient, are known for their digestive properties and cooling effect, perfect for the upcoming summer. HOLI 2024: EASY HOME-MADE PAN THANDAI
INGREDIENTS
- 5, 6 Betel leaves (pan ke pathe)
- 1 tbsp fennel seeds
- 2, 3 green cardamoms
- 2 tbsps Gulkand
- 2 tbsps misri/sugar powder
- 1 tbsp green food colour (optional)
- 2 scoops Vanilla ice cream
- 2 glasses of milk
FOR GARNISHING
Cut dry fruits into small pieces or add dried rose petals for that extra zing.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Making The Pan SyrupIn a blender jar add fennel seeds, cardamom seeds, misri or sugar powder, gulkand and food colour. Add little water and make a fine paste and then sieve it.
- Add FlavouringsThe next step is to put the pan syrup in a blender jar then add milk, ice cubes, vanilla ice cream and blend it.
- Garnish And ServePour the liqud into a serving glass of our choice and top it up with cut dried fruit or add dried rose petals for that extra zing.
The Pan Thandai is ready to serve.
