It has been two years since Yusuff Ali was appointed to the board as an independent director.“Since my induction into the board, I have tried my best to bring about a change in the way the national airlines is operating. But still, thousands of Indian nationals are getting stranded in the Gulf and the Indian airports due to frequent flight cancellations, delay of services and unreasonable fare hikes. I am disappointed at not being able to do justice to the faith reposed in me,” he said.Yusuff alleged that a section of employees is not cooperative and is trying to sabotage the efforts made by the government to revive Air India’s past glory. “The Government of India has been very supportive to revive Air India and its prestige. NRI businessman Yusuff Ali M A resigned from the director board of Air India on Saturday.  Yusuff said that he decided to step down from the board of the national carrier as he felt dejected for not being able to do anything for the NRIs.
