VISAKHAPATNAM: For K Rahul Ranjan, a Class VII student from PSS School in Vizianagaram, it will be an occasion to cherish when he gets to meet ‘master blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar. The young artist is planning to present a wall painting to the world renowned cricket icon when he visits the ACA-VDCA Stadium on Sunday. Sachin will be in the city to play on behalf of Mumbai Indians in the Twenty20 match against Deccan Chargers the next day, as part of Indian Premier League-V.Ranjan, who received a cochlear implant, painted a portrait of Sachin after the cricket legend scored a hundred centuries very recently. “He is a great fan of the ‘master blaster’ and chose to express his love admiration for Sachin through painting. He always found his inspiration in Sachin, in good times and bad times, and is now super excited to meet and greet his cricket idol,” said Ranjan’s mother Uma Devi.Ranjan has been driven to painting since childhood and even emerged a national-level winner three years ago. But he could not take it up full-time because of the cochlear implant surgery. “However, he is now learning the nuances of painting and has got innate talent as regards drawing, brush strokes,” Ranjan’s tutor MV Krishna Rao states.
