BANGALORE: In a move that could trigger a fresh controversy, former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, who himself is entangled in several corruption cases, has decided go on an indefinite dharna in support of Anna Hazare’s fight for a strong Lokpal Bill.Yeddyurappa will start his dharna from 11 am on Thursday at the Mahatma Gandhi statue on M G road and he is expected to be accompanied by several ministers from Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda’s Cabinet.However, this decision has not gone well with his Opponents within the state BJP. They are of the opinion that Yeddyurappa’s protest would cause an embarrassment to the party as well as to the government since he has already moved the court for an anticipatory bail in a corruption case. They have also reportedly drawn the attention of the party high command.After sensing the trouble, Yeddyurappa huddled with his camp at his residence on Wednesday, and announced that his protest would be an apolitical affair and he was not doing it under the banner of the BJP. He said that he had informed the BJP national president Nitin Gadkari about his protest.He encouraged people to join him and said, “I will continue my protest till Anna Hazare is successful in getting his demands fulfilled.”
