CHENNAI: It is within the capacity of women to make their homes a paradise was the message for women from Brahma Kumaris Sister Asha on international Women’s Day. “A woman’s role in her family is primary. She is the one who holds the family together. If she is a working woman, it is important that she keeps a balance between her family and work,” said Sister Asha who is also the director of Om Shakthi Retreat Centre. Because of the busy and stressful lives couples live, they hardly have any time to give to their families.When a woman brings her stress from work to the house, things become still worse for the children, she observed.She recalled an incident where she had a chance to counsel and interact with young people at a de -addiction Centre. “Most of the young people who had got into drug abuse, come from broken families or from families whose mothers are too busy and do not have any time for them. I think every mother should make it her priority to give her time to her child. A mother’s love and attention is very important for the healthy development of the child into an adult,” she said.Women have a lot of qualities like sacrifice, tolerance, patience, and they are also spiritual, which make them give their best to what they do in their chosen path.
