Woman burns drunken husband to death

ROURKELA: A woman, Amita Choudhary, allegedly burnt her husband to death at Kalyani slum of Sector-1 here under Sector-3 police limits. Reports said the deceased, Dilip Choudhary (42), assaulted his wife in an inebriated state on Wednesday morning. Fed up with the constant quarrel, Amita allegedly doused Dilip in kerosene and set him ablaze, at around 1 pm.Dilip, who had sustained 90 per cent burn injuries, was shifted to Ispat General Hospital where he succumbed in the evening.They have three daughters.Police said though Amita denied committing the crime, she was arrested based on circumstantial evidence. An autopsy was conducted on Thursday and a case registered.
