BANGALORE: State BJP president K S Eshwarappa on Wednesday said that each of the three party MLAs - who were recently suspended for their alleged anti-party activities - will also be issued the whip in elections for the lone seat to the legislative council from Assembly constituency slated for December 22. “It is the party which has suspended them for working against the official candidate in the Bellary rural byelections. But they continue to the members of the legislature party as they have neither resigned from the membership of the Assembly or expelled. Like every other MLA, whip will be issued to them also,” Eshwarappa told the media. He dismissed as mere speculation that BJP members would cross vote in the elections to council where Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda would be the candidate. “Issuing a whip is the obligation as per the party constitution,” he said.
