A 150-year-old Banyan tree in Eduluru village under the Kattangoor mandal of Nalgonda district in Telangana is currently in the news. According to Local 18 Telangana, this Banyan tree is unique because if you take shelter under it, you will not find any sprouts of the Banyan tree. Another similar tree is located 1 kilometre away from the Eduluru village.

A native of the Eduluru village talked more about the Banyan tree. As per the Eduluru village native, from ancient times till today, this tree provides shade for around a hundred people in the village. The villager described that for almost 150 years, his ancestors used to hold meetings and panchayats under this Banyan tree. The rest of the village natives informed that their ancestors planted this Banyan tree.

Some of the Eduluru village natives said that 8 years ago, the topmost portion of this tree was damaged due to floods caused by heavy rains. The Yadav community and the other villagers living in nearby regions have made a pilgrimage to this tree about 30 times. One of the Eduluru villagers said that along with the massive tree in their area, a little Banyan tree had also started growing. If we closely look at the bottom of the massive Banyan tree, it seems very difficult to find its starting point. The branches of this tree are also extremely strong and big.

The devotees celebrate the Mallanna Jaathara at this Banyan tree with great grandeur. Villagers informed the Local 18 Telangana that the devotees who arrive in the Eduluru village sit under the Banyan tree to get respite from the sun.
