Bhopal: Youth Congress chief Amarinder Singh ‘Raja’ Brar on Wednesday claimed that they would corner the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government in Madhya Pradesh on issues of unemployment and farmer crisis.
Brar, who was in Bhopal to forge communication with the state's Youth Congress workers, said issues vary from state to state but these two issues hold national interest and are prevalent in MP.
“Punjab has waived off farm loans upto Rs 2 lakh for farmers who own less than five acres of land. But Chouhan, who calls himself farmer's son, didn't even discussed farm loan waiver,” alleges the youth leader from Punjab.
The two-time MLA from Gidderbaha said, "Chouhan didn't seem farmer-friendly to me. Instead, he looks like an enemy of the peasants.”
Brar declined to name any young CM face ahead of Madhya Pradesh polls, said it was a prerogative of the party chief Rahul Gandhi. However, he said he was being a youth leader hopes that the party will give more responsibility to youths in the state in near future.
“There is no as such percentage criteria of tickets to be given to youths in MP. But Rahul Gandhi has made it clear that if 50 deserving and winnable youths are available in MP, we will give tickets to all of them,” said Brar.
He also claimed that the popularity graph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders have gone down constantly in the last three-and-a-half-years as the ruling party seems to be deviating from its “sabka saath sabka vikas” ideology.
Expressing delight over his party’s performance in Gujarat, Brar said, they would fight on similar lies in MP as well.
