KOCHI: The CPM committee which inquired into the allegations levelled against the party’s former Ernakulam district secretary Gopi Kottamurickal will submit its report to the party state secretariat next week. The special state secretariat meeting to be attended by CPM general secretary Prakash Karat will take a decision on the findings in the report. The committee led by Vaikom Viswan and M C Josephine and A K Balan as its other members is learnt to have recommended expulsion of Kottamurickal and the district secretariat members who raised the allegations against him. The committee found that the allegation that Kottamurickal had an illicit relationship with a lady advocate is true, sources said. The district secretariat members who leaked out the news against Kottamurickal also have breached the party discipline. Rather than leaking out the news, they should have discussed the issue in the district secretariat or brought the issue before the state committee, the report says. The state secretariat will hand over the issue to the state committee of which Kottamurickal is a member. Those who levelled the charges against Kottamurickal have not handed over all the evidences captured in camera to party state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan. They have kept it with them for using it in the future if the party does not heed their demand for showing Kottamurickal the door. These visuals will be leaked out to the media, if the party fails to act properly, sources said. The office secretaries in the district committee office will also have to face strict action. The committee has found these office secretaries also played key role in executing the plot against the former district secretary.
