HYDERABAD: V Vijay Sai Reddy, accused No 2 in Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s illegal assets case, walked free on Friday after spending more than three months in prison, with the special court for CBI cases granting him bail. This has come as a blow to the CBI probing the case and the agency is likely to move the High Court against the lower court’s orders.With the court granting him bail, Vijay Sai Reddy walked out of Chanchalguda central prison at 8 pm, after his lawyers completed the formalities.Granting bail to Vijay Sai Reddy, special court judge B Nagamaruthi Sarma asked him to furnish a Rs 25,000 bond, with two sureties of equal amount. He was also asked to surrender his passport to the court and not leave the city without court’s permission. The court directed Reddy to make himself available to the CBI if need.“The petitioner should not directly or indirectly make any inducement, threat or promise to any person acquainted with the facts of the case so as to dissuade him from disclosing such facts to the court or the investigating agency, or tamper with evidence,’’ the court said.As soon as the judge read out the bail order, CBI counsel filed a petition seeking orders to keep the bail order in abeyance till Monday. However, it was dismissed by the court.A chartered account by profession, Vijay Sai Reddy, is a close aide of Jagan and was charged under various sections, including !20-B read with 420, 409 and 477-A of IPC and Section 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
