Miramshah: As many as six US helicopters reportedly violated Pakistan’s air space over North Waziristan Agency on Tuesday, after some unidentified militants attacked allied forces in Pipali area of Afghanistan situated close to Afghan-Pak border.
The helicopters hovered in the air space over Lawara Mandi area of the North Waziristan Agency, reported the Dawn.
Quoting eyewitnesses, the paper said that the US helicopter gunships violated Pakistan’s air space more than six times in the area, but did not take action.
Pakistani security forces did not react against helicopters, they added.
The sources said that constant air space violations by US helicopters triggered tension and senior military officers flew in helicopters from Miramshah to assess the situation.
