UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2018 notification is going to be released today on the official website of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) - upsc.gov.in.

Eligible candidates aspiring to pursue a career in Civil Services as Group A officers viz IAS, IPS, IFS, ICAS, IRS, IRTS amongst others must keep a tab on the official website to know the registration process, eligibility criteria, exam pattern and exam schedule.

Application Process for Prelims 2018 Ends – 6th March 2018

Candidates who qualify the Preliminary Exam 2018 will be eligible to appear for the UPSC Civil Services Main Examination 2018 which is scheduled to be held from 1st October 2018, followed by Personal Interview. Candidates must fill a Detailed Application Form to appear for the Mains Examination.

The Prelims exam is a screening test only and marks obtained in the same are not considered in the final selection of candidates.

UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2018 – Age Limit

The applicants must fall in the age bracket of 21 to 32 years of age.

UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2018 – Exam PatternThe Preliminary Exam is an objective type exam that comprises of Paper-I and Paper-II.

Paper-I comprises of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) based on Science and Technology, History and Culture, Geography, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Environment and Ecology, and Current Events/Affairs of National and International importance.

Paper-II comprises of questions to test the Aptitude of the candidate.

Wrong answers attract a penalty of 1/3rd mark deduction as negative marking.
