UP Police says suspects identified, hopes to crack NIA officer's murder case soon
Sources claim that the suspects who have been detained have admitted to their role in murder conspiracy.

Uttar Pradesh Police is hopeful of cracking the murder case of National Investigation Agency officer Tanzil Ahmed. Two people have been arrested and 5-6 others have been detained in connection with the case so far.

Sources claim that the suspects who have been detained have admitted to their role in murder conspiracy. Police officers suspect that Tanzil Ahmed could have been killed due to a personal dispute.

"We are working on promising leads and have detained 5-6 people. The case will be cracked soon," Uttar Pradesh DGP Javeed Ahmed said.

The suspects were detained after police conducted raids in Sahaspur and Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh.

One of the arrested suspects is a relative of Tanzil Ahmed. Sources claim that the suspect was upset over Ahmed not honouring a property deal commission.

The murder was planned by the relative and executed with the help of a hitman, sources add.

"Data of his mobile phone, which was damaged in firing, has been recovered. We are working on all possible lines and we will share information with media after reaching any logical conclusion," said Uttar Pradesh IG (Economic Offence Wing) Deepak Ratan.

According to Ratan six teams are working on the case and senior officers including ADG (Law and Order), IG ATS, IG STF and DIG Moradabad are camping at Moradabad, the police zone under which Bijnor falls. Ahmed was killed by unidentified bike-borne gunmen on Saturday night.
