Ban Ki-moon said that the United Nations stands ready to support the Libyan people in all the areas.
Tripoli: UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has vowed to offer help for Libya's reconstruction, as he held talks with the head of the ruling National Transitional Council Mustafa Abdel Jaliland in Tripoli on Wednesday.
All Libyans want to build "a democratic Libya, grounded in respect for human rights and dignity of every woman, man and child," Ban said.
He expressed condolence to the families of those who died in the unrest.
"The United Nations stands ready to support the Libyan people in all the areas," Ban said, citing the elections, new constitution, human rights, public security and control of weapons.
This is Ban's first visit to Libya since the uprising erupted in February which toppled Libya's former leader Muammar Gaddafi.
