BANGALORE: In separate incidents, two persons were murdered in the city.Naveen Kumar alias Naveen, 22, a street vendor, was hacked to death by unidentified assailants in Sriramapura police station limits on Thursday.The police said that Naveen was heading to his friend’s home in Ramachandrapura on Thursday evening, when a gang of unidentified assailants attacked him with lethal weapons. The miscreants fled after attacking him and some passersby shifted Naveen to a hospital. He succumbed while being shifted to hospital.“Though it is not clear why he was murdered, it is suspected that love affair could be the reason for the murder. The victim’s girlfriend, a resident of Ramachandrapura, had passed away sometime ago. However, Naveen was in love with his sister, with whom, a few youth from her locality were interested. Hence, that might have led to the brutal murder,” the police added. Sriramapura police registered a murder case and are investigating.In the other incident reported in J P Nagar police station limits, Kanakappa, a 70-year-old security guard, who was attacked on December 30 last year, succumbed to injuries at a hospital on Thursday.The police said that Kanakappa was attacked by Appu and Shiva Kumar over a trivial issue. Despite getting medical treatment, he succumbed on Thursday night. The J P Nagar police registered a murder case.
