Jammu: Two persons were arrested on Saturday for allegedly chopping off a hand of an elderly woman over a family dispute in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Rahul Sharma and Darshan Lal, both residents of Reasi, entered the house of Parkasho Devi (55) last evening and assaulted her with a sharp-edged weapon, a police officer said.
He said the accused had some family dispute with the victim and attacked her when she was alone at the home in the Kanda Seri village of the district.
A police team, headed by inspector Kuldeep Krishan, station house officer, Reasi, was constituted to nab the culprits, he said.
They were arrested and booked under various sections of the Ranbir Penal Code.
