Two arrested for bike theft

TRIPUNITHURA: Two youths were arrested by the Tripunithura police for their involvement in bike theft, according to the police. A police team headed by CI Byju Paulose and Hill Palace SI P R Santhosh arrested Siad of Kittethu Veedu, Velloorkunnam, Muvattupuzha and Sunus of Peringalam.Siad and Sunus were engaged in bike theft from  Alappuzha and Kottayam, according to the police.  Their modus operandi was to steal bikes from neighbouring districts and sell them after forging the registration numbers.A bike owned by Shajahan, of Alappuzha, and Shoukkathali, of Kaloor,  were stolen and sold by the duo  after changing the registration numbers.The  arrest was made by  a police team comprising ASI Paulose and cops Raffique, Madhu, Suresh and Binu.The two were produced before the magistrate and remanded.
