HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi's leadership is closely watching the political developments unfolding in Hyderabad and Delhi. It thinks that if Congress and Telugu Desam leaders quit their parties, they will inevitably join the TRS to take part in the Telangana movement.According to TRS leaders, the Congress stood exposed after its ambivalent attitude on Telangana and the TDP had no face to take part in the movement because of Chandrababu Naidu's two-eye philosophy. The BJP is supporting the movement but is not favoured as it is perceived by many as a communal party. TRS believes that that the fledgling YSR Congress will follow in the footsteps of Telugu Desam on Telangana. TRS leaders are in touch with several Congress and TDP MPs and MLAs who have decided to resign and are telling them that if they have any difficulty in joining the TRs they can remain in their respective parties and yet take part in the movement for Telangana state. Last year the TRS had managed to win over TDP MLA Ch Ramesh who was re-elected on TRS ticket from the Vemulavada Assembly constituency.Recently, it has netted another TDP MLA, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, who resigned from membership of the Assembly and is waiting for a notification by the Election Commisison to contest the by-election on TRS ticket. The TRS calculates that Telangana leaders will have no chance of survival outside the TRS and is confident that all of them will have to walk into Telangana Bhavan on one day.
