Tirumala Tirupati deposits gold in IOB

TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has deposited 390 kgs gold with the Indian Overseas Bank, which provides an interest of 1.65 per cent on gold deposits.It was done under the TTD’s Gold Deposit Scheme.Negotiations are in progress for depositing another 610 kgs of gold in the IOB. The bank will get the gold refined.The TTD has already deposited 3,000 kgs of gold in different banks, including SBI and IOB.The gold was handed over to the IOB in the presence of TTD’s FA&CAO Pradymna Reddy, additional FA&CAO O Balaji, DyEO (Treasury) Hari Babu and others at the TTD administrative building on Friday.
