Mumbai: In a new twist in the murder case of businessman Arunkumar Tikku, the Mumbai Police on Monday claimed that chief suspect, Vijay Palande confessed to the murder of an aspiring film producer Karan Kakkar.

Parts of his body were recovered from Chiplun on Monday.

Days after his arrest for allegedly masterminding TV actor Anuj Tikku's father's murder, Vijay Palande, who even claimed complete innocence in the case, has allegedly made a shocking confession to another murder.

Palande on Monday claimed to have killed aspiring producer Karan Kakkar, who went missing on March 5 and then dumping his body on the outskirts of Mumbai. Small-time actress Simran Sood, who is Palande's girlfriend and now in custody, had allegedly befriended Kakkar and had introduced him to Palande.

After Kakkar's murder, Palande along with another accomplice, Dhananjay Shinde allegedly parked Kakkar's BMW at a bungalow in Pune.

Police are yet to locate Kakkar's body and are also probing Simran Sood's connections in the glamour world after recovering her pictures with some IPL players in post-match parties.

The Mumbai Crime Branch is now expected to take over the interrogation of Palande.
