Three ordained Bishops of Mar Thoma Church

PATHANAMTHITTA: Three rambans, Rev Varghese Mathai, Rev K V Varkey and Rev Oommen George, were installed Episcopas of the Mar Thoma Church at a solemn function held at the Tiruvalla SCS ground on Saturday. With the ordination of Mathews Mar Makarios, Gregorios Mar Stephanos and Thomas Mar Theethos as new episcopas, the number of bishops in Mar Thoma Church has touched 13.The installation ceremony was led by Mar Thoma Church supreme head Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan with the participation of Philipose Mar Chrysostum Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan, Zacharias Mar Theophilos Suffragan Metropolitan, Geevarghese Mar Athanasios, Geevarghese Mar Theodosios, Joseph Mar Barnabas, Thomas Mar Thimothios, Isaac Mar Philexinos and Abraham Mar Paulose. The other bishops who participated in the ordination ceremony included Joseph Mar Gregorios of Syrian Jacobite Church, Yuhanon Mar Chrysostomos and Kurikose Mar Cleemis of Malankara Orthodox Church, CSI bishops Thomas K Oommen, K G Daniel and Joseph Mar Coorlios and Cyril Mar Baselius of Thozhiyur Church. Thousands of faithful and a large number of eminent persons from all walks of life attended the function.
