TUMKUR: The stray elephant menace continues in the district as three persons, including a woman, were injured at Kamalapura village near Devarahosalli village near here in the early hours of Sunday.Huchamma (50), who suffered multiple fractures, was shifted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Bangalore after receiving first aid at a private hospital. A herd of five elephants which strayed from Savanadurga forests to Devarahosahalli village, attacked the victims at around 5.30 am. Two of them managed to escape with minor injuries, but the woman was lifted and hurled to the ground by an elephant.Forest Department officials from Nelamangala range visited the spot and promised compensation to the victims of the elephant attack.
