Akhtar lamented the fact that members of parliament from the Indian film fraternity did not take their duties seriously.
New Delhi: Noted lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar today lamented the fact that Rekha and Sachin Tendulkar, members of parliament from the Indian film and sports fraternity haven't been attending the Parliamentary sessions regularly.
Speaking at a press conference in the city, Akhtar said, "There's no way we can justify their absence in the Parliament. But I particularly say this for Sachin Tendulkar, people have huge respect for him. His words carry a lot of weight."
Javed Akhtar was recently in Delhi for the launch a video for child healthcare.
