Bangalore: Darshini, Bangalore's very own fast food joint gives the likes of McDonalds and Kentucky Fried Chicken a run for their money.
Situated at every nook and corner of the city, Darshini's unique sellling point is cheap food that is nutritious.
At the same time, the outlets are cool and designed like any other international fast-food joint outlet.
Long-stemmed steel tables and overflowing crowds are the defining features of the numerous Darshini outlets.
The menu is up on the wall, you pay before you eat and the atmosphere is buzzing. Old and young alike - they all like to come here and the crowd just doesn't stop pouring in.
"I come to a darshini very often because rate-wise it's economical, the food tastes great and the hygiene standards are very high," says a customer.
Other regulars echo these sentiments. "The quality of the food is great, it's not very expensive, it's clean and close to my place so I like to come here quite a bit," says a another customer.
The damage to the pocket is almost negligible. A mini-meal can be bought for just Rs 15 and the helping is enough to see you through a day.
The food is simple - not much ghee, less oil and not very spicy - but delicious at the same time.
