HYDERABAD: Having lived in Hyderabad for almost 25 years, Harsha Bhogle was back in city to extend his support for the Monsoon Regatta.  “When I was young, I remember the Hussain Sagar completely covered with water hyacinth. It looks much more beautiful and cleaner now,” he said. “Hussain Sagar is like the treasure of Hyderabad. We ought to conserve it,” he added.Harsha Bhogle further said there was a very strong need to keep the sailing tradition alive in the city. “I am very happy to be a part of this as Hyderabad is very close to my heart,” he added.Talking about cricket in Hyderabad Bhogle said, “We have always had one player emerging at once. There was never a kind of group of players. It’s like there was Mohammad Azharuddin, then VVS Laxman and Venugopal Rao.” When asked if he always wanted to be commentator, he said, “I guess I wanted to do that. I started when I was 19 and the passion has not dwindled so far.” Commenting on the ICC’s decision of no separate window for IPL, he said, “I love the IPL as it gives lot of opportunities for many young players. So, maybe that’s what they decided.”
