HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K Chandrasekhar Rao has declared that he will revive the Telangana movement after the Sankranti festival.
Releasing the 2012 calendar brought out by the Private Lecturers' Association at Telangana Bhavan here on Monday, he said he would undertake an indefinite fast, if necessary.``I will prepare a new action plan at the TJAC meeting likely to be held in the first week of January. If I am keeping silent, there is reason for it and it should not be construed as abandoning the movement. The movement will continue in different forms till such time we achieve Telangana state," he said.

He said that when the Sakala Janula Samme was at its peak, the Centre had requested him to give it time to take a decision. "That is the reason why we are silent. We have given enough time to the Centre after calling off the Sakala Janula Samme. If there is no response from the Centre, we will hit the street again, demanding creation of Telangana state."

"The Andhra Pradesh experiment has failed miserably. After the 1969 movement which cost the lives of 400 students, no justice has been done to the Telangana region. On the contrary, the imbalances became more pronounced which led to eruption of the movement once again now,'' he explained.

Rao alleged that Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu, after the Centre's announcement, did all he could to prevent bifurcation of the state.
