Hyderabad: An international kidney racket has been busted in Nalgonda district of Telangana state. The police have arrested four persons in this connection. A 22 year-old Suresh, along with 3 others have been held by the Nalgonda police for running an alleged Kidney racket. Suresh is a second year degree student pursuing Hotel management in Hyderabad.
He first sold his kidney to a donor for Rs 5 lakh in December 2014. He has been addicted to a lavish lifestyle and later he turned in to an agent of the kingpin of international kidney racket. The racket operated using social media and other internet platforms. He managed to lure others and facilitated 15 other transplantations. He got Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1 lakh for each transplant as a broker.
The police say the kidney transplantation surgeries were performed at three major hospitals Nawaloak Hospital, Western Hospital and Lankan Hospital in Colombo of Sri Lanka.
The police have busted the racket after vital information and have taken sou-motu action.
Police investigations are underway and expecting arrests of more persons involved across the country.
