MYSORE: Forest Minister CH Vijayshankar said that the state government would set up a task force to keep an eye on the movement and entry of wild animals into rural and urban areas.
He said that a separate recruitment drive would be conducted for the task force and the Department would implement the orders of Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa who held a highlevel meeting on this.Vijayshankar, who presented a relief cheque of `5 lakh to the deceased man's family, said the wild elephant menace has been reported from seven districts. He said that both these wild elephants would be tamed by the Forest Department and used for its services.

Asked whether the Forest Department failed in restricting the wild elephants from entering the city, he said that it was an accidental case. He complimented the police, forest officials and the district administration for controlling the situation.
