TADA court says no to stay on Sanjay Dutt's sentencing
The court, last week, had rejected their plea to refer the case to SC.

Mumbai: The special court conducting trial in the 1993 serial blasts case on Monday rejected an application by 24 accused for a stay on their sentencing.

The court last week had rejected convicts' plea to refer the case to Supreme Court, following that they wanted a stay for filing an appeal in Supreme Court.

These 24 include those accused of planting the bombs as well as actor Sanjay Dutt.

They argued that a May 18 judgement by the Apex Court had questioned the constitutional validity of the Terrorist And Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act.

The sentencing of remaining 24 accused of the serial blasts is expected to start on Tuesday.
