Suspected IM terrorists, who were arrested from Rajasthan in a joint operation with Delhi Police, had conducted recce of Ganga temple in Bharatpur besides some places here and were planning to move out of the country after executing blasts.

"It came to light during primary investigation that they had visited several places including some at JLN Marg in Jaipur and Ganga temple in Bharatpur but there is no certainty whether they had finalised the targets," DGP Omendra Bharadwaj told reporters in Jaipur on Wednesday.

He said, they were planning to plant explosives at places with high footfall so that maximum devastation could be done.

"Several things have come during interrogation which are at primary stage and subject to confirmation. Our one team headed by SP ATS is in Delhi where the accused are being interrogated," he said.

The DGP informed that IM founder Riyaz Bhatkal had asked them to leave the country after the blasts and Maruf, who was arrested in Jaipur, had also applied for passport and prepared for his engagement.

"With all explosive materials in hand, they were waiting for the name of the target and the date, but with their arrest (7 in all from Rajasthan), the IM network in the state has been smashed," he claimed.

When the dreaded IM terrorist Bhatkal and operative Asadullah alias Haddi were arrested in 2013, Tehsin Akhtar and Waqas were trying to create their base and network in Rajasthan.

Of the three persons arrested from Jaipur on Sunday, Delhi Police special cell has released Mehrazuddin but the Rajasthan police said he will be now interrogated by the Rajasthan ATS.

"He has been released by Delhi Police special cell but we will interrogate him soon. Probably he was released on the basis of lack of evidence, but he is wanted in a case lodged here by the Delhi Police and we will interrogate him," he said.
