Most schools and colleges in Pune, the worst affected in the country have decided to temporarily shut down, too. Political parties in Pune are pressing for closure of public places like malls, cinema houses.

However, the Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has allayed peoples fears saying that there is no need to panic. Azad also said that there is to be no forcible closure of schools from the Centre. State governments can take a call after studying the scenario, Azad indicated.
