The incident took place on Thursday after the girl, a resident of Chhindwara returned to the hostel on Wednesday from her home. She hung herself from the ceiling fan in her room, police said.

Cops suspect that she may have taken the step due to failure in a love affair. According to police, the whole situation about the suicide would become clear only after her parents reached Betul from Chhindwara.
