Srilakshmi grilled on correspondence

HYDERABAD: Suspended senior IAS officer Y Srilkashmi appeared before the Central Bureau Investigation here on Wednesday.For the first time after her release on conditional bail from the Chanchalguda central prison, she appeared before the CBI in connection with the case of illegal mining by the Obulapuram Mining Company. The CBI had already interrogated her on the lease of mines to the OMC owned by former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy and his brother-in-law BV Srinivas Reddy who are curretly in jail.During the half-hour interrogation on Wednesday, the CBI grilled her over the correspondence that took place between the mines departments of the central and state governments. The CBI asked her how the classified correspondence was leaked to the OMC management. As usual, she was tight-lipped and did not answer many of CBI's questions. Srilakshmi was secretary in the state mines department at that time. A few days ago the High Court had admitted a CBI's petition seeking cancellation of the bail granted to her by a lower court.
