PUDUCHERRY: AIADMK demanded that the territorial administration make its stance clear on the issue of common entrance test for admissions to MBBS course from next year, on Monday.Briefing the media here, secretary of the local unit of AIADMK and MLA A Anbazhagan said the Tamil Nadu government had taken a decision to move the court objecting to the  system that Puducherry administration has been following in which they blindly copy Tamil Nadu in all aspects and that they should make its position clear now.Anbazhagan charged that the excise policy of the government was not a balanced one. He further said that eight years ago, the government had incurred a loss of `160 crore per year due to tax concessions accorded to some distilleries here. The revenue collection at that time was also less as MRP was not printed on the bottles, he claimed. He strongly criticised CM N Rangasamy for not holding the meeting of the State Planning Board under the Lt Governor before finalising the annual plan outlay and having discussions with the planning commission deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahuluwalia. Puducherry students and parents welfare association also urged the MCI to withdraw the CET as it will affect students of the UT.
