Special ICUs for women, children

KOCHI: A Women and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit will be opened in the General Hospital in Ernakulam on Friday. The fully air-conditioned structure built at a cost of Rs 5 lakh will have two separate ICUs for women and children. The establishment was sponsored by Sarada Krishna Satgamaya Foundation For Law and Justice which is headed by Justice V R Krishna Iyer.Justice Iyer will hand over the keys to Sheikh Pareeth, District Collector, Ernakulam. The structure will have separate delivery units, nebulizer and other facilities for the care of children and women.
