Snapshot: Independent candidate Rakhi Sawant looks environment friendly in all-green salwar-kameez, jacket, scarf

Self-titled 'mirchi girl' and Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant revealed her new, political avatar yesterday. Dressed in a greet outfit, complete with a khadi jacket and her head covered with a matching green scarf, Sawant posed solemnly for the shutterbugs. "Please give me one chance and see what I can do," the actress urged, adding that she was leaving the film industry for the people and would take up cudgels for women for dignity and respect in society, reported IANS. She will be contesting Lok Sabha election as an independent candidate from Mumbai's North-West constituency. She will lock horns with Congress's former union minister and party general secretary Gurudas Kamat and Shiv Sena's Gajanan Kirtikar.
