Paris: Shiv Kapur ran into rough weather early in the final round to return a card of 73 and finish tied 23rd in the Alstom Open de France Golf tournament near here on Monday.
Kapur's tied 23rd finish was rather disappointing after having been in the top 15 for the middle two rounds.
Jeev Milkha Singh had a roller-coaster of a round with one birdie, one eagle, two bogeys and on double bogey in his 73 that saw him finish at six-over and in 46th place.
Marcel Siem held off a stunning final round charge from Francesco Molinari to claim his second European Tour title.
Six behind overnight, Molinari double-bogeyed the first but responded with nine birdies in a stunning 64 -- the best round of the week.
The final round took place in blustery conditions and Siem held his nerve down the stretch en route to a 67 that saw him finish one clear on eight under. Siem's only previous win came at the 2004 Dunhill Championship. He saved par at the first despite finding water from the tee and was able to avoid any dropped shots up until the 18th.
Kapur, who was looking at a good run for a top 10, opened with a bogey and then had two more on fourth and fifth, at the very holes, where he dropped shots on third day. He did have birdies on third and sixth, but yet another bogey on 12th set him back. He had no more birdies.
Kapur can take consolation that it was his second top 25 finish in three weeks and gives him a decent chance of trying to get his European Tour card back for 2013.
Siem's playing partner Henrik Stenson impressed on the inward nine, but, after making four birdies to reach seven under, the Swede hit trouble at the last and finished with a triple bogey.
