MYSORE: Journalists from both print and electronic media boycotted the official programme of Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda on Saturday in protest against the government failure to act against those advocates, who took law into their hands and assaulted scribes on duty, at the city civil court in Bangalore on March 2.The scribes, holding placards condemning the government and behaviour of the advocates, raised slogans against Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda on his arrival to inaugurate ‘Sarakari Sawalathugala Santhe’ to give away `300 crore to 1.5 lakh beneficiaries. As the scribes, along with journalism students, started their protest from the media gallery, Gowda, who was unhappy with the protest, claimed following the meeting with the heads of electronic media and editors, the government has decided to order a judicial probe into the incident.“The government wants to come out with a permanent solution to end such ‘goondaism’. The government will not spare anyone who takes laws into their hands,” he added. Gowda said he would personally review the progress of the inquiry on a daily basis. The scribes, who were not happy with the CM’s assurance, staged a walk out during the function.Apparently perturbed by the media’s excessive coverage of the porngate scandal and attack on reporters, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda without taking the name of the media houses said nowadays, the negative aspects were discussed and given more publicity which was not good for the society.  He was speaking after releasing the two volumes of ‘Mysore Darshana’ brought out by  the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU).
