SAARC Summit begins, India-Pak begin bilateral talks

New Delhi: South Asian foreign ministers are meeting in New Delhi to discuss increased co-operation against terrorism, easing of visa regulations and establishing new air, rail and road links.

On the agenda for the SAARC talks are the inclusion of Australia and Mauritius as observers. The 14th Summit at Delhi had witnessed US, China, EU, Japan, South Korea and Iran attending as observers.

On Friday, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Pakistan's care-taker Foreign Minister Inam ul Haq met on afternoon on the sidelines of the SAARC meet to review the progress on the composite dialogue in which Kashmir, Sir Creek Siachen and Pakistan’s elections were expected to feature prominently.
