RPF men commemorated

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A commemoration parade was held at the Railway Divisional Office, Thycaud, the other day, to  salute thevalour and sacrifice of 28 RPF (Railway Protection Force) men who laid down their lives for the nation in different parts of the country last year. The observance was held in connection with the National Police Day, which is meant to pay homage to the police personnel who laid down their lives on October 21, 1951, in an attack by the Chinese Army at Ladakh while patrolling Indian territory. At the function, V Rajeevan, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Thiruvananthapuram, placed a wreath and took salute at the memorial, followed by K J Joy, Commissioner, RPF. The RPF personnel gave a gun salute at the function, which was attended by officers and staff of the Railways.
