REPUBLIC DAY 2024: Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, or Dr. Ambedkar, is one of the founding leaders of independent India and one of the most important social reformers in the country. He was born on April 14, 1891, in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. Regardless of facing several challenges, he went on to become one of the most educated South Asians by having higher education degrees in economics and law from institutes like Columbia University and the University of London.
After India’s independence, he served as the chairperson of the constitution drafting committee and later became the first law minister of the independent India. Ambedkar long believed that the spirit of the Indian constitution would only be realised if there were societal reforms and harmony.
