HYDERABAD: A case was registered against a YSR Congress party leader for allegedly kidnapping a person from the regional passport office in Secunderabad on Wednesday. Market police registered a case based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s relatives. However, the victim was released a couple of hours later.Police said realtor Raghava Rao, a native of Narsaraopet in Guntur district, went missing on Wednesday morning from the regional passport office at Secunderabad.His family members registered a complaint with the Market police saying that Raghava Rao might have been kidnapped and suspected the involvement of YSR Congress party leader Nalla Surya Prakash Rao behind the kidnap.At around 10.30 a.m.on Wednesday, Raghava Rao went to the passport office along with his driver. But he suddenly disappeared from the place. Later, the driver informed his family members, who when they tried calling, found his mobile switched off.They immediately lodged a complaint with the Market police. The police registered a missing case and started investigation. At around 3 p.m., the police received a call from Raghava Rao saying that he was released by the kidnappers and that he was safe. The police recorded Raghava’s statement.
