BANGALORE: Asserting that he was prepared for a public debate on corruption charges hurled at him, JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy on Monday challenged Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to produce documents to support his allegations. Speaking to reporters, Kumaraswamy said he was "willing for a public debate on the issue but wanted ample evidence from those making the allegations."He said if the chief minister was not guilty of corruption as claimed by him, he should let the investigation into the charges continue. He also wondered what was the difference between some of the leaders accused of corruption in the spectrum scam and the corruption charges that Yeddyurappa has been alleged of in terms of doling favours for gains.Condemning the allegations by Congress leader Siddaramiah that corruption began during the JD(S) regime, he said the Congress leaders should first place on records documents to support such charges. The JD(S) leader said that the current situation in the state was "the making of the BJP and Congress" and accused the latter of not doing enough to bring out facts relating corruption in the state. He also condemned the reported remarks of B K Hariprasad against Lokayukta Santosh Hegde.
