KADAPA: Rayalaseema political leaders, irrespective of their political affiliation, have announced their intention to fight tooth and nail against the demand for state's bifurcation, and declared that they are ready for any sacrifices to keep the state intact.Participating in a Samaikyandhra meeting organised under the chairmanship of Ch Chandrasekhar Reddy, convener of district JAC of Samaikyandhra, here on Friday , political leaders from all the four Rayalaseema districts— Kadapa, Kurnool, Chittoor and Anantapur— along with several representatives of teacher, employee, student JACs declared in one voice that under no circumstances would they allow state's bifurcation.“If the state is bifurcated, the Rayalaseema region stands to lose the most as several irrigation projects in the most backward region of the state, will be shelved.The future of Rayalaseema will be in jeopardy and, without irrigation water, the entire region will turn into a big desert.” They said people of Rayalaseema had sacrificed their capital and several of its projects for the sake of Visalandhra (Andhra Pradesh) and were not ready now to see those sacrifices become meaningless.They stressed the need for development of the region in every sphere— education, employment, health, industry and agriculture. “Such development is possible only in the unified state and we will not allow the state to get divided.'' Asserting that Telangana was far more developed than Rayalaseema, they asked their Telangana counterparts as to what injustice was meted out to them for demanding a separate state.Cautioning that bifurcation would harm national unity, they said any idea of division of the state should be discouraged.“We are ready to sacrifice out posts and positions as they are not worthy in comparison to the interests of unified state. We will intensify our agitation and make Rayalaseema's voice heard in Delhi."The leaders strongly came down on those who are proposing division of even the Rayalaseema region for creation of a separate Telangana state and described such leaders as traitors of the people of the region.“Future generations will not forgive them ever,'' they thundered.All the participants in the meeting appealed to the people of the state to fight for keeping the state united and discourage the efforts of separatists. They demanded imprisonment of TRS leader K Chandrasekhar Rao and TJAC leader Kodandaram for hatching the conspiracy to disintegrate the state.The participants included parliamentarian MV Mysoora Reddy, legislators G Veerasiva Reddy, C Adinarayana Reddy, K Srinivasulu, G Srikanth Reddy, A Amarnath Reddy, M Linga Reddy, G Gurunath Reddy, B Pullaiah, former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy and others.
