Former Pradesh Congress Committee president Chandrabhan said standing crops in close to 22,000 villages had been damaged in the recent hailstorms and rains, but the government on Friday had announced package for only 4,000 villages which "is insufficient".
He said the announcement had created resentment among a section of farmers because many affected areas had been overlooked while deciding the package.
