The students were reportedly objecting to the police checkpoint put in place outside their college. The students stepped out of the college and raised slogans. Soon, they started pelting stones at the police, resulting in clashes, according to sources.
Security forces, reportedly, used tear gas and pellet guns to disperse the crowd, injuring a student severely in the process.
