Dhanush’s much-anticipated film Raayan has hit theatres today. Raayan is the second film directed by actor Dhanush after his 2017 film, Pa Paandi. However, Raayan has been released in various theatres across the country. However, in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, permission has also been given for special screenings.
As per reports, Raayan released in more than five theatres in Puducherry. On the occasion of the release of the film, there was a lot of celebration among the Dhanush fans as Raayan marks the 50th film of the actor. His fans went crazy.
According to reports, a 50-foot banner was held in front of a theatre in Puducherry, with the names of 50 films featuring actor Dhanush on it. After that, crackers were burst, and the banner was anointed with milk. As it was Raayan’s 50th film in a row, the fans broke 50 coconuts in front of the banner. Apart from this, in front of the gate of the theatre, his fans danced with full enthusiasm.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Tamil Nadu government permitted Sun Pictures to hold special screenings of the upcoming film on the opening day. According to sources, five screenings of the film would be held between 9 AM on July 26 and 2 AM the following day.
Sun Pictures has asked permission to present special shows on Friday. In Bengaluru, the shows are scheduled to start at 6 am.
Raayan is an action thriller film written and directed by Dhanush. The film is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. It stars Dhanush in the titular role, leading an ensemble cast that includes S. J. Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Saravanan. The music for the film is scored by maestro AR Rahman.
