Mumbai: The Preity Zinta-Ness Wadia case has taken a new turn. The Preliminary inquiry in the complaint filed by Ness Wadia's father Nusli Wadia regarding threat calls from an underworld don reveal that the calls were made by Ravi Pujari. Underworld don Pujari is known for making extortion calls to celebrities.

The Wadia Group had filed a complaint in the NM Joshi Marg police station in Mumbai claiming that the alleged threat call was made on Monday evening. Police recorded Nusli Wadia's personal secretary's statements in connection with the case.

It is being reported that Pujari had made several calls to Wadia's PA which went unanswered. Later in the day, around 8 pm, an SMS was sent asking the senior Wadia to remain aloof from the Preity Zinta case or else his business interests would be harmed.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police has established contact with Preity Zinta and she is expected to record her statement by the end of this week. The police have also written to the BCCI asking for CCTV footage in the case.

"We have written letter to BCCI and asked for CCTV footage. They sent it to us, with that we are continuing the investigation. Preity Zinta contacted us through her lawyer and said she will come back to India this week," Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria said.
